Supporting Students on the SAT

Education at George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School is designed to meet the needs of each student. The school's mission is to encourage and enable every student to graduate on time with viable college and career options.

They decided to use Horizon Education’s SAT readiness course in order to grow student access to Colleges/Universities. The program equipped 3 teachers with the tools and resources to effectively integrate SAT content and strategies into existing curricula, and/or to run a stand-alone SAT readiness course. Total score improvement exceeded the schools expectations.

Course Overview

• Six week before-school or after-school readiness course
• 15+ hours of prep instruction
• 3 practice SAT assessments with comprehensive student and classroom level score reports
• In-person professional development training for 3 GWHS teachers
• 95% of students increased their total SAT score by completing the readiness course
